Job Overview

The Site Superintendent's role is critical to ensuring projects are successfully executed within the provided constraints. The ideal Site Superintendent will be able to physically perform the work as well as manage it. Jobs will be within Toronto and GTA. Additional compensation is made for jobs outside a 60km radius of our head office.

The key responsibilities of a Site Superintendent are the following:

  • Completion of daily progress reports, daily progress reports, equipment logs and inspection reports  
  • Successfully coordinate material delivery, placement, securement, and associated reporting. 
  • Enforce and follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment. 
  • Clock in and clock out on company timesheet, including detailed description of duties performed. 
  • Coordinate and schedule with employees, subcontractors, owners, managers, and other key stakeholders as necessary to complete assigned projects. 
  • Review and organize and allocate manpower to complete work with Project Managers. 
  • Review contracts, project documentation and plans to ensure the work in the field is built to the most recent specification. 
  • Layout floor plans as per the drawing set. 
  • Plan the day-to-day operations with Project Managers on assigned projects and ensure that proper resources are in place for the timely completion of work, including labour, material and equipment. 
  • Ensuring the project is completed up to company quality standards and within allotted manpower and schedule. 
  • Identify, review and correct deficiencies before project completion promptly and effectively. 
  • Prepare change order request forms for additional work to be performed. 
  • Ensure the scope of work is being completed in the appropriate sequence. 
  • Conduct pre and post-project review meetings. 
  • Tracking and reporting employee or contractor hours. 
  • Conduct project kick-off meetings with team members, employees, or contractors to review project details, schedule, and scope of work. 
  • Identify project-related risks and develop a plan to mitigate those risks. 
  • Oversee construction crews and associated work required for the completion of projects.  
  • Read and interpret architectural, interior design and structural drawings. 
  • Train prospective employees.

Job Qualifications

  • Experienced and versatile in carpentry, drywall, and finishing 
  • In-depth knowledge of the construction process from material selection, techniques, and tools 
  • Physically able to lift heavy tools and materials 
  • Minimum 5 years experience in project management or site superintendent, having managed mid-sized constructions projects 
  • Able to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings 
  • Effective communication skills 
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple people, including clients, builders, and employees 
  • Must be punctual and have own means of transportation 
  • Great attitude and willingness to learn and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
