Job Overview

We are interested in hiring an experienced foreman to complete quality and detailed work. If you have the experience and possess a good attitude, we want to hear from you! Jobs will be within Toronto and GTA. Additional compensation is made for jobs outside a 60km radius of our head office.

The key responsibilities of a Working Foreman are the following:

  • Follow direction provided by Site Superintendent and Project Manager 
  • Read and interpret architectural, structural and shop drawings. 
  • Review all scope of work, project documentation and plans to ensure the work in the field is built to the most recent specification 
  • Plan the day-to-day operations on assigned projects and ensure that proper resources are in place for the timely completion of work including labour, material and equipment 
  • Organize job site including labour material and equipment 
  • Coordinate with multiple people including clients, builders, architects and other employees 
  • Ensure adequate material is always on site to perform work. Material take off and material ordering with office regularly is required. 
  • Purchase material and coordinate placement 
  • Sequence scope of work effectively and efficiently as to complete work on time, budget and up to quality standards 
  • Ensure production levels are maintained and schedule goals are met 
  • Build relationship with other skilled trades and recommend colleagues for work 
  • Coordinate with colleagues and other key stake holders using email 
  • Maintain team morale when executing work on site 
  • Train prospective employees. 
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment. 
  • Layout floor plans as per drawing set provided 
  • Install light gauge and heavy gauge steel framing (exterior walls, interior walls, floors etc.) 
  • Install drop ceiling systems 
  • Installation of T-bar grid and Tiles 
  • Installation of drywall 
  • Clock in and clock out on company timesheet including detailed description of duties performed. 
  • Ensure scope of work is being completed efficiently and according to company standards 
  • Train apprentices and prospective employees.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years work experience installing drywall or framing on mid-sized residential or commercial constructions projects 
  • Own tools to perform all aspects of work 
  • Ability to organize, develop, communicate and execute vision, plans, schedules and daily crew goals 
  • Ability to use Microsoft office products 
  • WHIMIS and Working at Heights Training 
  • In - depth knowledge of construction process from material selection, techniques, and tools 
  • Take pride in their work 
  • Detail oriented 
  • Physically able to lift heavy tools and materials 
  • Have own set of tools 
  • Able to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings is a benefit but not required 
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to give and take direction from others 
  • Must be punctual and having own means of transportation 
  • Great attitude and willingness to learn and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
